A musical montage of the scenes building up to..and including the 1984 FA cup final at Wembley stadium. Everton won the game 2-0..but Watford won the respect of the Everton fans that day..both with their gutsy performance on the pitch and their behaviour off it. The press dubbed it "the friendly final"

Was a great day (as an Evertonian), and your description is spot on. Brilliant atmosphere and great interaction between the fans before, during and after the game. Two abiding memories are of (grateful) disbelief when the ref allowed the second goal, and huge apprehension every time John Barnes got the ball. He was some player then!

25 years ago to the day, hopefully we'll celebrate by bringing the cup home again next week-end.

Many thanks for those words..and for reminding me it was EXACTLY 25 years ago!

I remember coming out at the end of the game and not being able to tell who supported who because so many people had swapped flags, hats, scarfs etc.
