@bbelilovsky Totally agree... Triggers are a sound device, like the pick-ups on an electric guitar... For sure they can help a bit for the stamina, but in my opinion playing with triggers requires more skills, especially precision... People that think playing with triggers is cheating are novices or ignorants, period... Hellhammer is a grandmaster with the drum, triggers or not, end of story...

@Misanasim Try to hear HH in Prominence And Demise by Winds, he play on an acoustic kit without triggers, same in Shining's albums... Triggers in metal are absolutely necessary, because the style is really grueling... It's simply impossible to sustain near 280-300bpm with feets and hands for an entire concert without triggers... I assure you that HH can play exactly the same things on an acoustic kit, Winds prove this... HH is an amazing drummer, the best in metal and one of in the world...

When we played with Mayhem about 12yrs ago, I stood in this spot. I believe he was using V-drum heads stretched over the drums.
