Fantasy Trailer, Song Title Music - Amicitia. (Incomplete, missing a few parts such as full choir.) Music composed and orchestrated by Jonathan Priest. Artwork of Quel'Thalas from videogame World of Warcraft, fantasy mmo game. For my friends Benjamin Troost and Harold Pluygers. Not really what I'd call 'epic' music imo, but epic is the only word people understand at the moment when it comes to music like this.

  • Nice composition!

The mixing of the voice at the beginning was amazing. And was the instrument at 0:09 an erhu?

  • @gotank Thankyou, I haven't figured out how to get Youtube to not compress the audio so much, the mp3/wavs are much, much clearer in sound. The string/violin sounding instrument at 0:09 is a Sarangi from India :) I use Cubase 6 Elements unfortunately, limited to 24 tracks, that's why there is no choir and it doesn't sound as "big" as usual "epic" music. Sample libraries are; Hollywood Strings, Hollywood Brass, Stormdrum 2, Voices of Passion and the reverb is Spaces.

  • @TheTrollMage Oh, I see, I've never heard of the Sarangi before. Did it come from Hollywood Strings? It sounds fantastic. As for the piece itself, I especially like the 'Neapolitan' chord at 1:15.

About the mixing thing... I take a completely different (and less tech-savvy) approach so I can't really comment in detail, but would it be possible to mix small groups of similar tracks into single wav files before combining the products as a means of bypassing the track limit?

  • @gotank Nah, the Sarangi is from Colossus/Goliath/RA and maybe Silk/Gypsy. Just check out soundsonline East West's store/forum. I'm on the forum too and people are generally helpful as long as you've read the FAQ's/older posts.

Thankyou again for your kind compliments. This was my first attempt at this genre so I learned a lot from it, mainly in the tech side and using samples, always progressing :) You can bounce them down, but that means you can't edit anymore. Waiting to buy full version

  • I enjoy this <3

  • You can hear that you really took the time to compose this. It sounds like everything is in the right place. It has this hero kind of feeling to it. I really like the part starting 0:30. I see you standing next to Thomas Bergersen in a few years. Keep up the good job!
