It's not your fault. BUT, STOP buying anything with plastic. It just creates an unhealthy mess on land as well.
Go see "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and wonder if we will get past the "brink."

Ya know, I consider myself to be a wildlife conservationist of sorts. I even majored in biology with a concentration in ecology. However, I can't help but think this "problem" is vastly overstated given the fact that the claim is the "Pacific garbage patch is 2x the size of texas", yet there are no pictures/satellite imagery detailing this. I'd chalk it up as more ultra-crazy environmentalist propaganda based on a shred of truth.

You can't see tiny pieces of plastic with satellite imagery... If you don't think pollution of the ocean is a big deal you need to have your head examined.

"every peice of plastic we've ever made is still on the planet".. Then what will not throwing it out do? They need to stop making the shit. If it doesn't end up in the ocen, it'll be on land and just mess up the earth in a different way.
