Oakland, CA - 1996. Not the greatest version of this song "live" but a version of it at least.

  • I'm having trouble finding the remix of this.. :(

  • Look on eBay. It's on the Ty Cobb single. Sometimes Amazon "used" has it too.

  • You are the Monarch! I haven't heard a live version of this song since I saw the 'Garden on Cornell's birthday in 96. Thanks for sharing a little piece of lesser known Soundgarden.

  • No Problem! I think I have one more live version of this song someplace...the quality might not be as good as this one.

  • Actually you're super wrong.

The best thing Cornell did vocally was Badmotorfinger.

Audioslave and Cornell's best vocals shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence.

He was a shadow of himself with Audioslave.

He didn't have his range, power, or control. He had his rasp, grit, and radio-friendliness.

Audioslave itself is too straightforward and radio friendly.

Soundgarden had so many different elements and had succeeded in capturing their live sound in the studio.

  • Damn I was only 16 old at this show..thanx for posting this. Damn I miss Soundgarden :(

  • @JoeSidhu Cornell during the Audioslave era has some VERY powerful notes (just that they're not 5th octave, like he usually sings, but mid/upper 4th octave). It's true his voice got very raspy, but his voice was (and still is) amazingly powerful.

  • @itchittyitch Good. How can you say a song is your favorite if you don't like every part of it? How can a person who wrote their own part mess up their own song? Just think about what you said and realize that you MUST be stupid. I'm glad I put you in your place and that you admit defeat. :)

Your opinion is shit, it comes from the port-a-potty that is your brain.

  • @jfoley715 Ow. I'm hurt. You hurt me. I'm reeling. Stop. You're overwhelming me with intelligence. Ouch. I'm powerless against your command of the language. You've insulted me while at the same time put me in my place. I am defeated by your capitalization. I'm down and may never get back up. Where's my hat? I must shit in it so jfoley can eat it with an ice cream scoop. Damn! Why didn't I just like the song as it was?? Why did I think I could have an opinion of my own? I'll never comment again.

  • @itchittyitch FUCK YOU. SOUNDGARDEN PLAYS WHAT THEY WANT YOU BITCH. LIKE IT OR GO SHIT IN YOUR HAT.

  • @JoeSidhu Yes I agree, but you're a choade (and super wrong) for saying his best vocals were on Badmotorfinger... He was amazing on all Soundgarden's albums, and that is a fact. Even in the new single he had obviously been working on his voice because he sounds much better than he did in Audioslave. Again, you are correct in that one aspect; but either way, he blows you out of the water no matter what Mr. wannabe music critic... *eyeroll* Best work was on Badmotorfinger... get the fuck out.

  • @itchittyitch Dude, you are the first person I've heard say that, and I couldn't agree more. That has been driving me crazy for years! An absolutely STELLAR song; why Kim, Why?!!!

  • @JoeSidhu I agree, but would take it a step further and say his vocal peak was around Louder Than Love and Screaming Life, though some of the songs might not be as tight or accessible.

It's hard to beat his vocals on Beyond The Wheel, Back Rain and Nothing to say; the range!

  • @JoeSidhu You have described exactly how I feel about Audioslave. I had super high expectations of that band back then when it was just a rumor.

  • It's illegal to play guitar as good as Kim Thayil 2:08
