Here's a circuit bent "Karaoke Elmo" toy. It is a newer toy, and thus harder to find solid bends with, but a nice pitch wheel and a distortion switch never went wrong as far as I'm concerned. The microphone on the side does work with the distortion switch, but, unfortunately, I currently only have two hands to run this whole operation. This will have to do, barring any genetic experimentation or modification on my part.

  • Why that elmo was hard to bend:

cuz he ddn't want you to bend him and ruin his ev1l plan for kids.

    But why you win:

cuz you was so awesome that elmo was give up.

  • @circuitblooper

You know, most people look at Elmo and assume he's a kind fellow, friendly, educational, and all that. He's not. He's a damn bastard, and I'm happy I drilled a hole in his head.

  • how hard is circuit bending? because it looks really hard but id love to learn how to do it

  • Hey there - it's actually not difficult at all if you know how to use a soldering iron (which isn't difficult, either). I recommend getting a copy of Reed Ghazala's book on bending (look on Amazon) and starting there - it's easy to read and the projects included are some of the basics of bending that aren't hard to do at all. You can bend with no electronics knowledge at all and make some amazing stuff with some parts from Radio Shack. Good luck!

  • How have you been?

Hope all is well, I have one of these, i am going to open

up amd look around, do you you by chance have

the bend points, photo or diagram?

    keep in touch.

  • Hey - things are well, thanks. I don't have any photos or diagrams, unfortunately. I remember this was a project from hell, though. It's really hard just to get open - you have to get the body apart before the "radio" and the board is in there. It's a modern board, too, so it's not as easy to find bending points. I found the pitch one quickly, but the distortion points were really tricky. I'll take a look at mine to see if I can help, but I'm weary of trying to get it open again... good luck!

  • Thanks, I think ill start looking for a copy soon

  • Thanks, I will be in touch.

  • Sorry, didn't see this response until now. This toy, like most bends, was entirely trial and error on my part. Luck plays a big role in any circuit bending, for the most part.

  • And rightly so, I think.
