It's the beginning, the first step. Technology evolves step by step and realizing those steps is the key, that's how Kurzweil made his millions. We are now on the verge of imbeding information in our inviroment, accessing those enviroments through something like GoogleGlass and BCI's will be publicly accepted before neural implants will... It's evolution, it continues, a constant force, and it's wonderous...

One thing that most people haven't predicted about augmented reality is that it could actually help the environment. Picture this:

Instead of filling your house with junk that will all end up in a landfill in a few years, you just purchase "digital items" such as a big screen TV that you can watch in AR but it doesn't actually have a physical form. No more waste, you use MUCH less electricity, and you don't have to keep repairing/replacing faulty items...just download a new TV!
