Doubt much of the extremely difficult fills are even feasible on a real drumkit. Makes me sometimes somewhat regret learning drums and not the piano lol.

@meashy52 It's not a dumb question..*LOL* It's an M-Audio KeyRig 49 MIDI keyboard. I use Reason to make my music compositions. The drums are from custom refills and samples. It took me many years of practice to get this comfortable with playing Key Drums the way I do. I still haven't mastered it, but I enjoy sharing what I do with people.

hello, I am a new subscriber and fellow musician and must say that your finger drum skills are ridiculously good and yet so straight forward having watched them...
Thank you so much for illustrating so perfectly the potential of creating original virtual drum tracks with such character and flare.
I do have one question though please!
Do you end up "quantizing" your performances or edit them note by note?

@superjet2771 Well, for studio productions, I do quantize at times, but for the live Key Drums videos, I really don't quantize. There are a few things I edit, but about 99% is how it was actually played. Most of the time I end up removing an extra tom or crash that was hit while playing another key, but I usually work out the licks before I do the video so there's not much to clean up.

@dmandavidbeverly Actually all the music is programmed in Reason. I have some custom samples and well as samples from various different refills.
