The Atlantic Sand Tiger shark in this clip is about 7 to 8 feet long. It is cloaked in a school of bait fish. If you watch very closely at the start, you will see that the school already surrounding the shark is joined very rapidly and seamlessly by a second school.

The wreck of the US Coast Guard Cutter Spar lies in about 100 feet of water, which is why there is little color. The Spar was sunk in 2004 as an artificial reef.

  • no ... those little fish eat whats left after a shark eats ... common sence ppl ...common sence

  • It is for protection. What you can't see in the video are the very aggressive tuna and mackerel hunting on the wreck. Their prey are the small fish. You can see it during a dive - the small fish will be in a school away from the sharks. When the mackerel and tuna appear, the small fish move to the shark and somewhat camouflage it. Usually the sharks don't feed until dusk. At midday, there are no left-overs for the small fish to feed on. This behavior can be seen in Blue Planet.
