I know, it looks strange doesn't it? Turn it on Again and Six Hours Live in the same title but it's true. As much as I promote the Hackett/Gabriel era of Genesis the fact is Turn It On Again was performed in London back in 1980 at the Lyceum Theater and that entire concert is on Six Hours Live. Another reason for posting this video is to attract newer fans searching for Genesis videos and hopefully they will discover this video and be introduced to their 70s material. They should learn about it.

  • I definately agree the music of the Gabriel/Hackett-era is mostly unknown for most of the younger Genesis-fans, but I strongly disagree on the mainstream opinion that "Genesis wasn't Genesis anymore when Gabriel and Hackett left". Personally I feel the same about both the Collins- and Gabriel/Hackett-eras: Different, but equally brilliant music!

All live-material on this DVD-set is GREAT, so everyone should definately get themselves a copy and see what the blokes did in their early years!

    T you

  • nice, to see phil collins so full of energy

  • This reminds me of hanging out in Dondee's, The bartender Ira loved Genesis! Good times...younger day...

  • To anyone who thinks genesis were not musically complex after hackett left, this was a commerically successful pop song written with verses that vary between 6/8 and 7/8, with some 5/4 bits thrown in, along with standard timing. Genesis were great, no matter what the lineup was

  • @JeauxBand If you listen to Carpet Crawlers, Tony has the higher harmony. And if you really want a treat, search YT for "Shepard". Peter Gabriel and Tony exchanged lead vocals on that one. Also, I don't think Tony sang much if any backup during the IT tour, so you can hear Mike as there are several songs where he is the only backup.

  • I`m not a die-hard Genesis fan but I like a lot of their songs and this one stands out. To me it represents the perfect blending of Prog Rock & Pop Rock, the transition Genesis was going through during that period in their career. Besides it`s a major classic.

  • who give's a DAMM about justin Bieber I DONT!!!! he sucks A_ _ !!!!!

  • @didymus46 Excellent comment, you evidently have a good knowledge of Prog Rock. ; )
