  • do you need an FFL to purchase one of these?

  • @tommywayneful No you do not, muzzleloaders are the easiest rifle to purchase , you can take home the day you buy it in most states.

  • I have one more question for you. Can you shoot power belt ammo out of this rifle? Or are you restricted to only shooting conicals and round balls? I'm not trying to bug you, but I just have some question that I need answered. Thanks

  • @Tegulicious I actually dont know? I've never really heard of people using them and have never tried them myself. My buddy said he used to shoot them out of his Hawkens and they shot good but im not too sure lol.

    No problem.

  • Are you shooting lead balls or conicals? What kind of grouping are you getting with them? Are you using black powder or pellets? How many grains are you using? I'm thinking of getting one of these rifles, and whatever works for you I'll try first! Any information regarding this issue will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  • @Tegulicious Round balls shoot alright , but i use lee R.E.A.L. Bullets. Im not too sure on the bullet grain , but ill get back to you on it. Also i use either 100 or 125 grains of loose powders, i use pellets for back up shots in the woods. Also, just try diffrent bullets and grains of powder and see what shoots best out of it, every gun likes diffrent stuff. Be sure to run a wet and dry swab patch through the barrel after every shot, makes it alot easier to clean at the end of the day.
