Schoonebeek, in the Netherlands, is the largest onshore oil field in north-west Europe. Over more than half a century, NAM, a Shell-Exxon venture, produced some 250 million barrels of oil from this field. Dick Benschop explains the enhanced oil recovery technology used in the Dutch Schoonebeek project.

  • Why are we still using oil? We have renewable energy that would COMPLETELY relieve us of our dependence on petroleum products.

  • but isn't the oil finished after a certain amouth of years? and what are you going to do whit the whole " factory" when the time is there?
