You can tell this is Sam Cook's first recording. His youthful voice against the older voices brings out the excitement in this song. His voice cracking helps you picture a child excited about leading the host from the wild. It wasn't too long after this that my Dad (RIP) and uncles were on a program with The Soul Stirrers and they became friends with Cook. In 2003, The Soul Stirrers sang at my groups 25th Anniversary as a tribute to the bond between The Taylor Brothers and The Soul Stirrers.

My mom has the SAME pic in her house. She has in a nice frame, you can't miss it when you enter her house! She bought it for $2.00 at the Crume brothers concert.
