What Concentration Level Was The hydrocloric Acid?
-
did the temperature changes during that?
-
Do the pop test!
-
What is the results of calcium and hydrochloric acid what type of gas do they preform?
-
Holy-Terrorist:>*=* sodium and potassium alliage make liquid metal!
-
what is the molarity of the hydrochloric acid?
-
Catch that hydrogen in a balloon bro!
-
How do I know that's not just alka-seltzer and water? Light the gas!
-
this is stupid......... because alll thats happening is bubbles form from hydrogen releaseing
-
yeap hydrogen gas released for both reactions..studying with calcium
not as same as magnesium...magnesium is cool and much more expensive than calcium.
Tecnically though the Chloride Ion plays no part, as all ions are free in solution, hence:
HCl ==> H+ + Cl-
Ca/Mg ==> Ca/Mg2+ + 2e-
2H+ + 2e- ==> H2
Hence:
Ca/Mg(s) + 2H+(aq) ==> Ca/Mg2+(aq) H2(g)
So the ions in solution at the end are Ca/Mg 2+ and Cl- (assuming no excess of acid)

Only as a gas yes the simplified reaction is:
[Mg/Ca] + 2HCl ==> [Mg/Ca]Cl2 + H2
