@utopiandesign Well first I'm a pagan and I actually believe in the occult, but I do not believe it because of others experiences I believe it because of my own. For an atheist to say I will not believe something until evidence is shown to me is not an issue of pride but reason. it is unreasonable to believe in something you have no evidence for or no experience with. let me ask you do you believe aliens abduct people, because thousands of people claim to have been abducted, is that reasonable?

@utopiande I'm afraid your just wrong, pretty much every mammal spices on the planet has homosexual behaviors by at least some of its individuals, so it is part of nature. While as a spices a male and female need to to mix there genetic marital to create a baby, that says nothing about if its moral, normal or better then homosexual unions, unless the only criteria is making a baby. when it comes to the relationship, how well a child is raised or if they love each other, sexuality is a non factor

@Fireflygamer I am glad that you experienced what you have in your home. What's my point? The very heart of life's perpetuation rests in male and female companionship. Every species of animal life depends on the union of male and female for its lasting existence. Man has stepped outside of this law of nature for various reasons. He has also stepped outside of the laws preserving nature: flooding the world with pollution, war, blind arrogance and greed whose course is the path of extinction.

@Fireflygamer For atheists to not explore the testimonies of people's paranormal experiences with the occult, witchcraft, visions, after death experiences, etc. placing all of the tens of thousands of testimonies in the "delusional" category is simply a pride that will not humble itself to the reality that there are controlling forces outside of our ability to control our destiny. That's all we're dealing with here is pride and the extremes people will go in their pride.

@utopiandesign I don't get the last part about atheism. What I was talking about is the fact that the monotheistic religions have held back scientific knowledge that goes against church doctrine, but atheists have no doctrine, they simply do not believe the claims made by theists about god, not because they ignore the evidence, but because they examine the evidence and find it lacking. This is not a dogma, its seeking the truth based on evidence, not just waht you wish to be true.

@utopiandesign yes I had two loving adults that raised me and stayed through it through thick and thin because of there love for both each other, me and my sister, whats your point? you think a mother and a father is needed some how, its not, what kids need its two loving adults in there life to show them what a loving committed relationship is, weather its between a man and a woman, two men or two women, it dose not matter its the love that matters. My lesbian moms did a fine job raising me!!!

@Fireflygamer Appreciate your honest disagreement. Were you raised by your parents who loved each other through thick and thin and who stayed together through their mutual love for you? Children have basic needs in life, and when they are not met they tend to take it out on others (such as >80% of the incarcerated coming from broken homes). The church has abused science and life and continues to do so, shoving doctrines on us outside of Bible text. But every "science" of atheism does the same.

@utopiandesign so you think that if everyone turned gay tomorrow, you don't think that gay men and women would not sleep with each other in order to make babies? because lesbians have been sleeping with straight men in order to get kids since the beginning of time. since 90%+ of scientists are atheists i call into question your statement that we would not have gotten to the moon if we were all atheists, I think we would have gotten there 300 years earlier.

Is Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow are a couple ideological morons. Every criticism they threw at the World War II hero and former president GHWB apply to them. Does Keith remember the crap his side of the political spectrum said about Ronald Reagan, and he wants to say GHWB "started it"? 1) That is complete bullshit. 2) What kind of defense is that? You started it. - I'm rubber and you're glue. What you say bounces off me and sticks to you. I guess people never grow up. They just get older.

That comment wasn't prudent at this juncture.

I regularly watch both "Countdown" and "The Rachel Maddow Show". In fairness, I agree that Keith Olbermann can come across as "mean spirited" on occassion, but Rachel? She always presents her unabashedly Liberal point of view with tact and class!
