"If we've never had it so good, why do we feel so bad?"

Brian Lucas holds a mirror up to our age of anxiety, revealing reflections which dazzle and provoke in his new dance-theatre work Performance Anxiety.

Through four engaging, disturbed and confronting characters, he explores the universal parallels that exist between the experiences of the professional performer and the struggle to "perform well" in our day-to-day lives -- be it in the bedroom, the boardroom or the supermarket checkout queue.

"An incredibly gifted and precise performer, Lucas flows from issue to issue with phenomenal grace and remarkably realised precision while, elsewhere, the production's astonishingly effective sound design cushions his lengthier diversions with acousmatic sound fields and distended pop songs."
