Because he's so good at being bad, and looks hot doing it.

Omg, how can he be so sweet and huggable in LOM and such an (uberly-sexy) crazy bastard maniac in this and Dr. Who?? He's brilliant! And oh so so so sexy.

Noooo! Isn't it enough that he died once?! Agh! I hope Time Lords can regen without a TARDIS. If not, there shall be hell to pay! D:< XD

I feel sorry for Caligula, people always say he did bad things yes of coarse but when he was little most of his family was murdered and he was forced to go to Capri where he had to watch rape, beatings and torture. Tiberuis was a sick old man, his punishments even extended to babies, he would put his gentiles in their mouths..... Poor Cal had to watch all that. No wonder he went crazy. Poor man, that was the only way he was raised to believe.

John so sexy in the role of Caligula. I liked only how he plays in this movie, why his role was so small, it`s too bad. I think, if John played the role of Nero, he would have played it brilliantly, much better than the actor who was starring.

It's okay, just regenerate!

burn in hell caligula
How foolish of the Romans. They should have known he'd quickly regenerate. He should have had Rory Williams protect him.

that stick he holds in his hand - is it a roman version of a laser screwdriver ha ha

Heh I just call it his "stringy screwdriver". I could have sworn that I read something somewhere about the stick being something Caligula carried around as symbolic of his divine status. To me, it just looks like a fancy fly swatter (something a Roman definitely would have needed).
