On 30 May, 1959, the Auckland Harbour Bridge opened, linking both shores of the Waitemata Harbour. After fifty years, the bridge stands as an icon of Auckland, and NZBC would like to honour one of the most important pieces of transportation infrastructure in New Zealand.
