As a comedian I'll often joke about religion and how more people have killed in the name of their god than anything else on this planet. However, as a movie that tackles that subject (in this case those who are Both Agains) "Higher Ground" for me is something you wouldn't normally see from Hollywood: a very good story that doesn't pigeonhole Christians as the butt of somebody's joke. Credit goes to Vera Farmiga who you might remember from the very good flick, "Up In The Air." She plays Corinne, a Born Again Christian who has the same problems in life that non-Christians have and comes about her faith young sure, but really discovers her faith later through a series of circumstances. I might add that this is also Farmiga's directorial debut and she (to use that Hollywood cliche) nailed it. Written by Tim Metcalfe and Carolyn Briggs (and based on Briggs' memoir) "Higher Ground" is an excellent movie so I gave it 4 out of 5 bagels.
