Kayak Fishing/Trolling while Sailing off Breezy Point (Mid Chesapeake Bay), Maryland on Oct 25, 2009.
I expected a trophy Striped Bass (striper). But I ended up with a 24" and bunch of small striped bass. Fishing was not good near Breezy Point today. It was not a productive day for many boat-anglers. And the striped bass caught by the boat-anglers were small.
Bluefish were gone back to the ocean due to the cold water temp at 60F. I am expecting big trophy striped Bass for next 4-5 weeks. I will be trolling big lures or jigging big lures for big striped bass.

  • is that a fish finder?

  • @TrekkerPro

Yes Im installed a Fish Finder

  • hello

you made a dame good recording qestion can i get a 18f bass boat in the location you are in this recording?

  • Yes, 18' Bass Boat is fine at wind of 10knots.

At 12knots of wind, you can not drive the boat fast.

Over 12knot, I did not see bass boats in the bay.

  • Thanks for sharing your fishing tips and showing us your rig. I just put a 16 foot sail on my sea kayak. Man is this fun.

  • Hey SeeingAmerica,

Did you install outriggers? A 16 foot sail is Huge for any kayak. I guess you are flying.

  • Do you need the sail for the umbrella rig? I really wanted to try this, but dont have a sail. I do most of my fishing on the ocean. Thanks

  • thats a cool kayak

  • I installed two rails on the side and the outriggers fit to them. I ordered my rails from 80/20 on ebay I use the 1010 with sliders. the outriggers have 6 inch pip pipe on them it is a thin wall pvc pipe you just have to heat up the pvc and pinch it on the ends. Simple stuff and fun to do. I am thinking about buying a waterproof camera and doing a video. No need to spend allot of cash to have fun.

Bring the big fish into the kayak is a different topic.

I will talk about it after I capture the big fish on the video

    Thanks,

    Joe
