Gold is the only REAL currency... its good collateral so KEEP IT. It's a good long term investment, but dont decare it! I wish I could afford to buy (under the table) a gold bar! BTW I read somewhere that bartering is illegal in the UK. Can somebody clarify this issue for me?

Well spotted Izzy...bartering gold in exchange for food I agree isnt sensible but, after the crash and assuming that you dont have any spare material things you want to exchange for something else that you need; for large private purchases like cars and stuff, gold is perfect. I believe that this is why they want to take all the gold OUT OF CIRCULATION. Gold is a finite resource so it will always increase in value despite the obvious fake fluctuations brought about by insiders for profit!
