Dynamite Headdy Baby Face Perfect Run -Requested by skyscamp

As requested by skyscamp, here is a video of me battling the boss Baby Face on Dynamite Headdy for the Sega Megadrive/Genesis without getting hit and collecting the bonus point at the end. Recorded on a PAL Megadrive.

I choose the Laser "Rocket" Head mostly because of the fact that it shoots through Boy Face's (etc) arm, thereby allowing me to position myself better than the Bird and Biplane Heads do; the only bad thing about the Laser Head is that I can't shoot Baby Face's second phase while he's at the far left hand side of the screen. Another good thing about the Rocket Head is that you can hug the left side of the screen against certain phases of the boss.

BTW: Headdy's hitbox does not include his head, only his arms and his body, however I'm not sure what section of Baby's projectiles have a hitbox to register a collision. No invincibility cheats were used in this run: I used the level select code to access the level for the run.

Audio jumps every now and then, I've no idea why it's doing this: but it happened during converting the video to youtube size regulation.

How do you unlock stage select in the game?! Tell me, i got as far as Baby Face today and i don't want to go through all of that trouble again just to get one level past him and lose! Continues are nearly impossible to get for me (I know, pick up enough falling junk from the bosses but it's not that easy!) Please help!

On title screen press start once so that the two options are present - Start Game and Options - leave the cursor on "Start Game" and press: C, A, Left, Right, B. Headdy will say 'Nice' to tell you that you'd inputted the code correctly, press the start button to enter level select. Use left and right to cycle through the levels.

btw the Japanese version of the game is quite different from the US and PAL version. the most notable difference is that Trouble Bruin' is named Maruyama ,is purple instead of brown, and Is constantly smiling rather than frowning Animal Crossing style. If you have an Emulator I reccomend you try the Japanese version, especially if you are new to Dynamite Headdy because the game is easier overall. Bosses take less damage to kill and Headdy can survive longer. I'm uploading a video of is soon.

If the old man grabs you he instantly dies for some reason. I guess he keels over from a heart attack because his eyes look up and a spirit floats above his head. Then he explodes! Headdy does not get damaged when grabbed from what I've seen.

As I said to an earlier poster, if you let the boss catch you at the end he dies laughing.

You can get damaged from him if you fly into him just after he lets you go but before he explodes, but yeah, the grab itself doesn't hurt Headdy.

@08071987 baby face is extremely easy once oyu know how to beat him, i cando it getting hit 1-2x twin face is freakgn hard though, i gave up after 15 tries lol

Thank you so much for that, I just got it in the mail, and after my first playthough I realized how damn hard this game is, and how much better I was at it as a kid.
