This is my favorite song, bar-none. DMB is not my favorite band, but Ive been following them for a very long time and I have never come across a song with such power and raw emotion as this one. Everything from the beginning of the song is like a building heated argument, then the bridge it calms down, and then the shouting match at the end.... and then you have the come-down to complete it. Its perfect. It best represents the absolute hell of a bad relationship.
I just put my master VHS on DVD (archival purposes), so I decided to throw this up here since its a tad bit better than what we have from another upload. Better sound, anyway.
12 years later, I still can't believe MTV aired this, and in between "Satellite" and "Crash" makes it even odder.
Finally caught this live in Columbus on 6/22/10 - worth the 15 year wait since I first heard it on the Recently EP.
Enjoy everyone.... and "love is hell".

Idk. I saw it recently at the gorge and that was the BEST fucking concert I've ever been to of them. They really have seemed to come into something greater than anyone could imagine. I think playing less shows allowed them to really give it all. Then again, mushrooms always help... ; )

@dmbdestiny because back when MTV was good they knew not to mess with the message of this song. and the f bombs were necessary to get it across.

This is awesome D! In total agreement on this being one of the best performances of 'Halloween'.

Was this really on MTV? Because I believe he drops the F-bomb twice (not including the one they edited out). Whether I'm hearing him right or not, this is definitely my favorite song to listen to when I'm angry. I still find it hard to believe that it's written about the same girl as my favorite love song, "I'll Back You Up." She certainly let him have it.
