The taste while chewing was fine, it was the after taste and the strong smell coming from my stomach that bothered me.

I don't know how you can hate it, it genuinely is my favorite food. The way you look at durian is the way I look at every other food after eating durian. Nothing else compares to durian.

If the fruit is ripe you can open it with your bare hands. There are seams on each pod you can open with your fingers.

It is an awesome fruit.

It has the textures of desert mousse/custard but better. It has the taste of caramel, mango, banana, chocolate, coffee and all of the best flavors. The smell is good. The main reason people don't like it is because other people say it tastes bad so they go into hating it, it's lame.

My experience was the first few times I ate durian it wasn't the best, it was a bit oniony. After a while I either got better at picking durians or they tasted better. All I know is I am addicted to them! SO GOOD!
