This video was produced in partnership with the volunteer 'SNV Counts 2010' Southern Nevada 2010 Census Complete Count Committee and KLVX - Vegas PBS. It is the fifth in a five-part series that will highlight the different ways Nevada families will be impacted by the 2010 census.
It shares the story of one Southern Nevada small business owner and demonstrates who important census data are for business planning, development, and marketing activities. Our business community, particularly our small businesses, rely on accurate socio-demographic population data to ensure they can effectively market their products and services and strategically plan for growth.
Our private sector business community will be able to apply updated, accurate data about our population gathered during the 2010 census for the next ten years. It is an imporant story to tell as our state continues to work toward emerging from the recession and highlights how small businesses will help our community embark on a new era of economic development and prosperity.
A special thanks is owed to all volunteer "SNV Counts 2010" complete count committee members who made this possible, especially KLVX - Vegas PBS for donating the time, energy, and resources needed to help share this compelling family story.
