I am happy to see that you are a free thinker. As for myself having spent so many years of my life trying to be a hetrosexual. I am so happy I gave up living in non reality. My feelings about homosexuality came from other people. When I look back on those yrs. I realize I could have been in a happy loving relationship or not but at least I would have been barking up the right tree.

Preach sister woman! As the fine brother Lonnell Williams of "3LWTV" (recommend you check it out!) would say - "stand in your light" - great words from one so fine and wise - it is true - that in many ancient African cultures - sexuality was more 'fluid' - before " the whites" - there was no word or concept for 'same gender loving' - even the Arab slavers civilisations didn't have a word - although it was more codified in their countries. SGL is not the only thing to character, forward ever! X

Why people are so viscerally opposed to us is really interesting. It may be part of our biological inheritance (programmed to reproduce) but equally non-reproductive love is also essential for our pyschological and biological survival. Whatever its origin it's a vile and viscious prejudice that has no place in a civilised humane society. Some people want existence to be in neat boxes and find the quirkiness of the universe hard to handle but the whole of Creation is quirky!

If we just take the New Testament, only 4 out of an estimated 20 Gospels are recorded in it. We also need to understand the context of the writings to make sense of them. But more important than either of these things our spiritual development is 1000% our responsibility and right. Whether we use a sacred text as a tool rather than a set of dictats, interepret it literally, metaphorically or in any other way is simply a matter of personal opinion, as you so eloquently have written in your poem.

@skepticthinker111 You know, I did the same thing. I researched and researched and researched my way out of the ignorance and mass confusion. People don't ask nearly enough questions because they're afraid of finding out that their entire spiritual foundation is built on a lie. Not many people are brave enough to stand strong in the midst of a crumbling foundation.
