This video is part 1 of 2. Buzz Thompson walks you through the installation of a TRD Supercharger on a 2008 Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8. This supercharger will bring the Tundra to 504HP and 550 lb-ft of torque. This kit can also be applied to a Toyota Sequoia.

  • Is it possible to install it in Toyota LandCruiser 5.7 V8?

  • @TheDwaZlote

There isn't a kit specifically for it, but people have done it. I think the ECU is the issue.

  • Bet it gets terrible fuel economy, 550lbs of torque is impressive but same could be achieved with a Turbo Diesel Truck, Ford seems to get the message with their twin turbo V6 in their F-150's makes 420lbs of torque with regular unleaded fuel and 22mpg highway, hopely toyota considers a turbo truck.

  • @ZImpresive

Apples to Oranges my friend. However, most owners report the same or better mpg with the supercharger from the rated 18mpg.

  • Wow, I can tell he'll be a good teacher.

  • How much is that to install I have a

2009 tundra with the Trd package and hauling package also it's the 4 door im guessing crew cab i don't really no but I like the Supercharger I need to have it haha

  • TRD fully copied URD's tacoma fuel upgrades lol

  • @KyleCook6 Your full of diesel soot! Gas is always cleaner than diesel. Do some research. Even the cleanest diesels require urea (urine) injection just so that they can pass emissions. Gas engines do not need them.

If you not wash your car or truck for 2 weeks you see the black soot on the back.

  • @artcam1 Diesels actually run cleaner than gas. Diesels to not pollute like gas does.

  • @FloridaSPL Right you are. Not to mention diesels polute so much more. They are better than the older ones yes, but still not as clean as a gas engine. Not to mention the price of diesel is way more!

  • @FloridaSPL A turbo seems a better option, since it works from the exuast fumes and not from the cranckshaft, it recycles energy that be otherwise be lost. Only if there was somekind of clutch system on the supercharger do it'd only used when needed.
