Back in the early days of television, commercials were often built into the stories, as well as the opening and closing credits of the shows. This is an example of how it was done in the 1950's. Several episodes of The Adventures Of Robin Hood are available at HoughsVideos.50Megs.Com

  • You're probably thinking of "MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS" parody of the series, 'retro'...

  • First time I heard this song the lyrics went: "Dennis Moore, Dennis Moore..."

  • "And still found plenty of time to sing" - sorry, but that's a really lame line.

  • Dennis Moore, Dennis Moore Etc. Etc.

  • One of the grandest, noblest, catchiest, sing-a-long TV end-credit songs EVER ! The lyrics are timeless - how many of you baby-boomers still sing the song in the best Noel Coward English Accent you can muster, and go round the house singing the song at the top of your lungs !! Surely I cannot be the only one, kind sirs and damsels. P.S. - as a kid, watching this show, I always had a thing for that CUTE Maid Marion !! What a LUSH !!

  • Great Fun

  • 3 cheers for Robin Hood. Bronx cheer for the Sheriff!

  • Jill Esmond as the Queen. Sir Larry's Ex.

  • There were two sponsors on the CBS edition of the series- The Wildroot Co., and Johnson & Johnson (they alternated sponsorship every other week)- this 1955 end title had the sponsor's product prominently displayed at the end. There was also a plug for Pan American Airlines, who "flew the films from England"...

  • This is from an original American broadcast, as I can tell.
