Lehigh County signaled Whitehall fire to a car fire with exposure problems at 6th & Jefferson Sts. in the Fullerton section around 23:15.

Chief 35 (R. Benner) arrived and reported a working fire. Engine 1 from Fullerton arrived and found a car with an engine compartment fire along the curbline with no exposure problems. The fire was quickly darkened down by the crew.

*Engines 1, 2, 12 and Rescue 8 responded on the box.

To view this fire from a helmet cam, check out Mike Nester's aka "firtog" video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKMQv2u86Ic

* PLEASE NOTE: We use Whitehall apparatus numbers rather than Lehigh County Radio identifiers for the purpose of reporting apparatus numbers. Its more professional, easier to identify a single or double digit number versus a 4 digit number.

  • well first of all yo u idiots that talk about the people that these kinda things happen too.this happened to me lastnite.i bought a bike and i was going to pick it up about 3 hours out i drove around the corner about a footballfields lenth an noticed some smoke i get it back to the house and noticed it was still smoking when me n my buddy got out and getting worse,i pop the hood guess what?....fire!its a 2002 dodge ram quadcab, real nice truck! IT CAN HAPPEN TO U.fd says wire fire under hood idk.

  • My guess is the car burned cuz some ricer put parts on it without any R&D and it overheated or caused something go awry. Kids and their dumb cheap cars.

  • it was a little difficult to try and get fully geared due to a full crew (4) in the back all pack qualified trying to get geared at the same time. It also doesnt help that the station is 10 blocks away so we got there pretty quick.

  • First of all your supposed to be geared up upon arrival of the scene that means helmets on and tight and gloves on. also they moved like fucking cats, thats fullerton for ya

  • Try investing in a peircing nozzle guys. Would of been easier then smacking the hood with a hallogen bar. Or you can even use the pri bar side of the hallogen and use the hood opener trick. More effective then beatin the crap outta it.

  • z kern on the knob rahhh!!

  • awesome video great job

  • Our FP unit is the same way.

  • i dont liv to far from whitehall.

    nice vid

  • I didn't mean to imply that you have a problem with them either. I didn't know in PA you can't have red/blue on apparatus.. what's the fun in that? As far as the fire/police goes as a combination, only department I know of in Kansas that does that is in Gardner, SW of KC. It was an interesting looking vehicle.. (I'd have fire videos up to share, but getting hired on a paid department has proven very difficult.. 0 for 8 tries so far haha, and work too much to volunteer anymore). Keep em' comin
