Wow! this is my first exposure to Annie Fischer. I don't usually last too long listening to Beethoven recordings, her playing here is so compelling and distinct I want to listen again.

Thanks, Gullivor! This is, in my opinion, second best recording of this Beethoven sonate (the best: the recording on a Decca Ovation release by Michelangeli. I can't find that one, one of my most treasured recordings, on YouTube).

@Luhmas and one of the most underrated pianists....
se was a giant and her importance in interpretation is much higher than very well known names.
for those who believe in god , she is in heaven now and did open for us a window to look into heaven.

I have just listened to the BBC version. I don't like that as much as it sounds a little over-interpreted. And this version is over a minute shorter.

Is this the Hungaroton version or the one once available on BBC Classics recorded in London on 19 October 1977?
