@danwilltheflim check animation mentor they have MAYA springboard they'll teach you how to use MAYA for 12 weeks for familiarization before getting to animation...hope this will help you!

@danwilltheflim i think autodesk is more for engineers. you want to use 3d studio max and there are easy step by step tutorials you can get for it

@danwilltheflim You can learn great animation just by trying it out for your self or reading some of the old Preston Blair or disney books on animating.
