Starting up my 70 bonnie, it hadn't run in a while, this is about 20 kicks later... the video doesn't show the sweat dripping down the tank, guess its time to change the 10 year old points. The other bike is a 1976 750.

  • what would you estimate the top speed to be?

  • Well my on my 650 I did about 120mph, but that was 20 years ago when I was younger and braver, I don't break 100 too often on a bike anymore. As far as price, if it's in good condition you are looking at more then $2k. There are plenty of web sites/part stores out there, the ones I go to are the smaller hole-in-the-wall bike shops, which don't have web sites.

  • even if it didn't work i love to have something like that in my garage maybe put a few chairs around it and invite my friends to sit down have a glass of wine and admire it like a piece of art in a museum.

  • Actually, I've done that..

  • As far as I am concerned, the best sounding bike ever! (As long as you remove the mufflers.) The 68, 69 and 70 are the most sort after years (major engine and brake improvements). I also think that the 1968 was the best looking bike ever made (Just like those stainless steel fenders). A 68 - 70 Bonnie in excellent condition will sell for over $12,000. Parts are readily available and they are easy to maintain. Skip the k70s and install the new high tech tires. They are great handlers!

  • How fast was the 650 Triumph Bonneville - Period tests usually had the bike topping out between 110 and 115 mph. My stock 1968 would get up to about 105 going downhill with the wind behind me. When I was running around 95, I had friends tell me that they were doing 110 mph. Maybe it was different speedometers or just BS. I had my 1970 up to around 100 mph. It might have been able to go a little faster. These were great handling bikes but their performance is nothing compared to today's bikes.

  • @Bowerso - I just bought a '69 tr6c stretched chopper at some small shop (about the size of my living room and kitchen) here in calgary for around $5500. That includes the rebuild and new 750 heads. And the shop doesn't have a website. Good call on where to find them.

  • Hey you can replay this alday and it keeps working, Cool looking scoot though and smart kid.

  • It finally worked I love it!
