In addition to its new bus services, Lagos has also launched a modern taxi scheme. The aim, to get rid of the older cabs and create a regulated sector. The yellow Cab has been a popular sight in Lagos busy traffic for many years. Of the 224 cars per kilometer in this city, at least 1 out of 5 is a yellow cab and they are a major part of Lagos business environment and its transport sector.

@funmiogunkoya So true. This current mini-renaissance occurring now in Nigeria could all go to shit if the military performs another coup. But the longer time established from the last military regime, the harder it will be for them to take over again.

the problem is that will there be much development outside lagos (though some other parts are picking up e.g. Jigawa who is providing 20,000-50,000 jobs for the poor).

the plan is great but honestly does not benefit the average lagosian...bottom line is that most people in lagos are barely making it let alone have such high prices for travelling from one side of town the the other...pricing arrangements should be reconsidered to benefit the everyday citizen
