  • @Blimpaccident YES, ONLY 1 OPERATING AT THE MOMENT. THERE IS A NARROW GAGE AT ALLAIRE PARK, BUT IT IS LIKE A TOY. PENNSYLVANIA ACROSS THE RIVER IS A STEAM LOCOMOTIVE LOVERS PARADISE! STEAMTOWN, NEW HOPE & IVYLAND, READING AND NORTHERN, PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD MUSEUM AND STRASBURG RR TO NAME A FEW.

  • Soon there will be 2 when BR&W #60 comes back in spring 2012, and 3 when the #4039 returns to service at Whippany. Seems though that all the mainline trips have ended in NJ, the 142 only operates at Phillipsburg now. With NS getting back into steam, they should let the 142 on their tracks a few times. How about an excursion to Belvidere and return? Or, make a reverse move over to Easton, PA and back across and up the Washington Secondary to Hackettstown and return? Or on the main to Newark, NJ?
