Selective Liquor Code Enforcement in Bloomington, IL

This video shows a promotional article in the local newspaper showing how our Mayor and Liquor Commission is getting tough on liquor code violations. In this instance we commend their action, but we have to ask, why have they ignored all the other code violations for the past 5 plus years at another venue closeby? Why were the complaints at this venue ignored, never investigated, stonewalled? It looks like a show piece article that higlights our liquor commission is getting tough just before the upcoming elections, like they are really going to go after ALL the violators and not just selective bars they do not like. Yeah right, when hades freezes over.

Its purely a political move to show after 5 plus years our Mayor who created this bar zone is finally getting tough. Only before the election to reduce the overall embarassment this area has created for the City in terms of lawlessness and open violations of all sorts just ignored by the police and authorities. Just ask property owners how this bar zone has boosted their rental and property values. We got reduced property taxes due to constant vandalism.
