The Jesus who is left out of the New Testament turns out to be in many ways the most important Jesus for modern times. His aspiration to find salvation vibrates in every heart. If it didnt, the brief career of a controversial, largely despised rabbi on the outskirts of Jewish society wouldnt mean much. Yet as we all know, that obscure rabbi became imbedded forever in myth and symbol. -from the Authors Note

The New York Times bestselling author of Buddha captures the extraordinary life of Jesus in this surprising, soul-stirring, and page-turning novel. Uncovering the transformational lost years that are not recounted in the New Testament, Deepak Chopra has imagined Jesuss path to enlightenment moving from obscurity to revolutionary, from doubt to miracles, and then beyond as the role of the long-awaited Messiah. As a teenager, Jesus has premonitions of his destiny, and by the end, as he arrives to be baptized in the River Jordan, he has accepted his fate, which combines extremes of light and darkness.

With his characteristic ability for imparting profound spiritual insights through the power of storytelling, Deepak Chopras Jesus portrays the life of Christ as never before, ultimately leading us closer to understanding the nature of God and the soul. As the author shares, I dont want the Jesus in this book to be worshiped, much less to push him forward as definitive. The events of the tale are pure fiction. But at a deeper level, the Jesus in this book feels real because weve gotten a glimpse into his mind. One flash of insight answers many prayers.

  • i fucking love this guy

  • @bammagamma Jesus existed in a time where the human understanding was very limited - so in a sense Jesus had to use conscious 'baby' talk. We are in a new age, people are much more sophisticated, we can grasp quantum mechanics and other ideas which would have imploded the ancient mind. Craig and others who follow his reasoning are adhereing to this 'baby' talk. Get a new vocabulary. If Jesus were alive today, I'm confident that he would not be using the same conscious 'baby' talk lingo.

  • Jesus was enlightened, he was a Buddha. Christians have lost sight of the historical Jesus because they are too busy worshiping the "images" of Jesus, images that were created about him after his crucifixion. Truth is based on the reality of what is, it isn't based on faith or a doctrine one believes in.

  • wow do yall get this junk from

  • I would really like to know where you got this "historical evidences", as scholars and historians have been searching for ages, and if you have found it please send it to the vatican a.s.a.p.. If you want an actual accurate take on the life of Jesus Christ please see Dr William Lane Craig. Deepak is "great" for the weak minded who seek a false understanding of spirituality. Once again I implore you to watch any video or debate done by William Land Craig. Perhaps you be "enlightened"!

  • Its kind of hard to take a guy seriously when he is wearing sparkly eyeglasses!

  • Also look up "Yogananda and the Clown Life of Christ - Jesus in India: Where Is the Evidence?"

Please keep in mind that the most comprehensive recorded evidence available on Christ's life comes from the Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek oral traditions and texts and these directly oppose the teachings of "Issa". There may well have been a man called Issa but it was most certainly not Jesus of Nazareth. Counterfeit Christs have always existed and many more will to come forward as Jesus predicted.

  • Hi dadin75, it is all speculation despite it being compelling. The are many articles on the net which disprove this claim. For instance, look up "Did Jesus Go to India?" By Philip Johnson.

There have always been counterfeit accounts of Christ's life including those in Egypt which refer to Christ as being Horus in a different incarnation, Japan and N. America. These are also untrue.

Books such as this one by Chopra confuse people and lead them into untruths despite labeling them fiction.

  • Hi, I appreciate your kindness for me, however, what I have wrote is the truth. If you would like evidence, you can visit areas of south asia that jesus had been to. Or, there is an easier way, look up 18 lost years of jesus on the internet and you will find the information. You do not have to believe me but there is no such thing as a god, an ultimate creator, one day you will find out my friend.

  • This is an absolutely untrue statement, there is no archaeological or manuscript evidence to support this outrageous contention.

I cannot imagine how you have managed to reach such a wildly inaccurate belief but I pray that Jesus Christ will take pity on you and that God will offer you His divine saving Grace through His precious Son.
