The original lyrics were from Yoyoy Villiame Welcome balikbayan in early 80's. Not sure if the tune were copied from older foreign songs or also Yoyoy original.

Good performance. It's funny, I'm Filipino American, and I used to get made fun of, because I played guitar. Sure, it came from the Spanish, but it became part of our modern culture to. Anyways, I have videos of my playing guitar, and singing. When you have time, check them out.

American Idol material right here.
So I heard that 3 years ago, this director from TFC found your video. He would then show it to his producers and writers. They liked it so much that when the time came for them to go to bohol, they wanted to do a segment on the river and they wanted mung medik specifically for it. That was on Pinagmulan: the journey home.
You got mung medik on tv.

Mang Medik was on our cruise also. The guy has an amazing repertoire, from traditional Filipino songs to the Beatles and lots in between. The only song he didn't know (at that time) was
"We are Brothers Forever" by Renaldo Lapuz, the American Idol contestant.
PS the kids Rondella Stage at riverside was a pleasure also. We got off the boat and danced with the kids.

I rode on a boat and heard this guy sing! It was amazing and relaxing experience on the floating resturant and listening to his music! I was there October 2007. Great video.
