These are the Westinghouse Traction Elevators, modernized by Payne, in the North Wing of Milton Hospital, Milton, Massachusetts.
Albeit hard to hear in this video (being shot with another camera nearly a year ago), these don't generally sound too good, but the rides are actually good. One does not serve the Sub-Basement Level, as it'll screw me up getting, and riding, the second elevator.
Of course, we know that PTL and "ACME" (CEelectronics) floor counters means a QUALITY UPGRADE! :)
Also note, the cert in the first elevator was messed up (280FPM?). Was correct in the second lift.

  • This was actually modernized by Thysen. This was a Westinghouse from before, and the modernized by Payne in the the 1960's.

  • @mdbv25

Could be. Then again Thyssen owned Payne, so Payne modded these, under Thyssen's arm. This was commonplace in the final years of Payne.

  • Interesting. I've only heard that floor passing chime once, and it was used on a 29-story elevator modded by Northern. It was ANNOYING.

  • @TheElevatorChannel

I can only imagine the "payne" and suffering. :D

  • The phone says "Help"...I wonder if people would use that button if they need help on how to use the elevator, lol.

  • @dontwalkhand

If they do use it for help on using the elevator, THEY need help, if you get what I'm saying. :)

  • I don't think those are PTL. They are very nice elevators, and they look like a nice mod. I like that floor passing chime a lot.

  • Yes, it's one of those aftermarket installations.

  • @CaptainElevator42189 Northern is only in Canada. What confuses people thinking that it's Northern is the EPCO fixtures.

  • @scheitinjebroek

As vaguely stated in the description, the fact the other elevator served the basement, while this one didn't, completely threw my game off. This was the 1'st set I've encountered with a weird setup like that. Months later, I found a similar set in another hospital, bit didn't get thrown off that time. It'll be awhile before that set is shown.
