Pat & Patrick lead a sing-along with the old song Wreck of the Old '97.

Other topics covered include Patrick's en plein air office, a pair of great cheap guitars, the Somerset s-2 tour, the Somerset S-3 ladies banjo and other stuff from Crisfield.

  • I do like that song but here's a question from a true novice banjo player. I'd like to install a strap on my openback banjo and was wondering which j hooks should be used for each end of the strap for the proper angle? Please advise and thanks.

  • Great job guys! I love everything ya'll post! And being from Danville myself, I think ya'll two did it great justice!

  • Poud to see the MD flag.

  • I have no banjo at the moment but I have an old guitar so I must try this for two reasons I am left handed but I would like to try right hand to see if I can cope if I cannot then I will buy a lefty.Thks Sam

  • A LASAGNA INJURY????? LOL!

  • Yeah, there's a great tab for the instrumental break of this tune on page 41 of the How and the Tao of old time banjo. If you don't have a copy it's available for free online.

  • Is there anyway to get the tabbed version of the melody? I am having trouble figuring it out myself.

  • You guys are great. I'm going to get myself a banjo at the weekend. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • If you have an extra guitar, take the 6th and 5th strings off it now take another 1 string and put it in the place of the 5 string tune both the original 1 or e string and the newly placed e string down to d the other strings stay tuned the same as they were. At the 5th fret wedge something under the string that won't slip to serve as a "high tech" but cheap capo and now make sure it is a g. there you go now you can frail away banjoless for only the cost of a few strings.

  • I watch every one of your videos too, just for the entertainment. I do play acoustic, electric, dobro, lapsteel, jumbus, and ukulele. Wish I could fit the banjo in somewhere.
