'Mission Accomplished' didn't mean 'Mission Accomplished'

In this clip White House Spokesperson Dana Perino says that "Mission Accomplished" had nothing to do with Iraq and only signified the single mission of the carrier Bush was giving the speech on. She then says that the president "never actually said 'Mission Accomplished' in his speech."

Perino goes on to say that "Mission Accomplished" was an invention of "The Left" and "Democrats."

Trying to rewrite history...

Here's what he DID say:

"In this battle, we have fought for the cause of liberty, and for the peace of the world. Our nation and our coalition are proud of this ACCOMPLISHMENT — yet it is you, the members of the United States military, who achieved it."

He then ties 9/11 to Iraq by saying: "The Battle of Iraq is one victory in a war on terror that began on September the 11th, 2001."

hahaha...I love just how far people can twist reality after-the-fact to fit their fictions. the essence of Bush's fly-boy trip was to announce the end of combat operations, he did this photo op on a warship when he could just as easily have done it from the white house, it had this enormous "mission accomplished" banner...and now that reality shows otherwise, people are saying "um...no, that just referred to the SHIP'S mission..." hahaha, yea, right
