  • Excellent playing, and a beautiful song. However, I do not think that this is Postlude in C major, as your book states. I am not even sure this is even Händel , nor that this is a postlude. I know that I have played this a long time ago, on the bassoon. I did some browsing on the web but yours is the only Postlude in G major by Händel which goes like this, which indicates that this might be another track (and maybe another composer as well). Please let me know if you find out more!

  • @nyo267n

I have this in a collection - in the collection it is called "Postlude" probably because they are indicating its intended use. Did Handel call it Postlude - I'm sure he didn't.

Thanks for viewing and your comments.

Hälsningar till dig i Sverige från ny Jersey, USA.

    Cheers,

  • It is indeed excellent, but there is one thing that bothers me slightly: none of the organs Handel played in England was fitted with pedals at the time. Would it have been possible to play this piece without using the pedals?

  • @ChrisBowlas

Yes, most definitely, could play it for manuals only.

Thanks for your comments and for viewing.

Greetings to you in the UK from New Jersey, USA.

  • @joenwayne Oh well, I'll let you know if and when I find the more common name for this piece. Then we'll also see if its even Händel. By the way, your profile states that you're a former U of M student. So am I; I returned to Sweden earlier this year. It's a small world.

  • Nice!!!

  • I have it in a collection of "wedding music" published by Concordia Publishing House, but it doesn't give any information as to the source. I've never seen it otherwise, so I don't know the HWV #.

  • Is there a corresponding catalog number with this piece "HWV ???" thanks
