In 1983. Johnny sings 2 songs from the upcoming Tribute to Nat King Cole also performed in 1983 . Whether upbeat or ballad-- prepare to enter 'Mathisland". There's a great interview in the middle- and a surprise recipe from Johnny- (cute!). Please enjoy. And for all of those in the UK and Europe awaiting Johnny's October visit - this is to 'whet your whistle'! You'll be 'humming a tune, drinking in sunshine...." ...(lyrics from one of the songs) . Enjoy the concerts- the rest of us will through osmosis!

  • What a nice guy Johnny is. A true STAR!

  • @stevescissors - truly is Steve, a very nice guy- or as Jay Leno said when Johnny was on the Tonight Show this week "The nicest guy in show business'- his humble style is always so apparent. And a non- ego talented star. Enjoy:)

  • @lenoremewton When I was young, i never realized how talented he was. As we get older we seem to get much wiser and see the shit thats out on the radio today and then do we realize the meaning of true talent. My aunt had an Antique Shop way out in Long Island in the late 60's and 70's. He would come in very often with his friend. I remember her telling everyone what a nice and kind person Jonhnny Mathis was. I wonder if he lived out in Long Island way back then?

  • @stevescissors - nice story of when you were young- I think, this is just something I heard once, that he would rent a place on Long Island when he would play up there- he used to play at - for instance, Westbury Theater on Long Island for week at a time. The name of the place he stayed/rented is on the tip of my tongue! He is wonderful- so glad you've rediscovered his full gifts again.

  • What a lovely, humble and gentle man. Thanks for uploading xx

  • @KatieWalford - so so true. He is such a warm, humble person/soul. You can see it in the recent UK video uploads people have put up from his tour there. He has such heart. I'm glad you are enjoying this. You're welcome.:)

  • @lenoremewton. He probably rented somewhere in The Hamptons, A well known section where all the rich anb famous hang out. I sent his most recent videos from youtube to some of my friends, they can't get over how good he still sounds. I live in NYC and i believe it's not called Westbury anymore, they changed the name of the theatre, but it will always be Westbury Theatre to me. I've seen some great shows there over the years. Thanks for always replying, you're very kind.

  • @capatga - all true- he is a real human being- who has never forgotten his past- in face he embraces it. He STILL looks boyish!

  • I love that stars will admit to their humble beginnings instead of putting on airs like some of them do because they think its expected of them, he is proud of his parents and not at all ashamed ,that's why he is so successful ,the humility ,the ability to laugh at himself gratefulness to his fans, yet he is refined cultured gentleman with boyish good looks and in my opinion the best ballad singer in the world

  • @capatga - great way to put it! all of it- :) enjoy
