i spin my 11:1 race motor to 6000rpm all the time. my only complaints about the car is the open diff and stock trans. i'll have a dyno video here in a week or two hopefully
a 5 main B motor can spin up a lot more than people give it credit for (esp with a light flywheel). check out my videos, my B rarely get under 4500. Stock block/crank but other go-fast goodies.
Engine is B series bored to 1850cc, race spec cams/pistons/crank big valves & Webber. Whining noise is not supercharger but straight cut gears instead of standard helical ones. NSF suspension breaking caused spin. Driven by S Irvine 2nd in class in 2007
Looks like the car is taking part in the MG Car Club Luffield Speed Championship (timing beam splitter and sponsor decals). I'll see if I can find anyone from the Luffield Championship who knows the spec of the car or it's owner.
Listen closely... can you hear the supercharger whining?
Also, note the N/S wheel is spinning up. The way the drive train is laid out on the B, its normally the O/S wheel that would spin up. This implies there's proberbly a Quaiff LSD in that axle too. Or, it has Hoyle IRS, perhapse?
is this car running a panhard rod?
