As for war crimes, soldiers in any war most certainly have committed war crimes. I guess he's saying the Republicans like to ignore such thigns?
And the democrats "Cut critical funding for our soldiers". Yet, the no-bid republican-related corporations such as halliburton have misplaced BILLIONS.
Nice doublespeak there.

pfft - we're supposed to like him because he's a POW? He was known to be the son of someone important (his father, who had court-ordered gag orders placed on solders in the U.S.S. Liberty such that they were not allowed to talk about Israel shelling their ship for hours on end), and he got the best treatment of everyone there. I heard he was reviled by the base prisoners because of his special treatment.

I like how any criticism of war gets twisted into "you hate the soldiers." We're not allowed to be critical of soldiers? It's not impossible to support soldiers AND be critical of them at the same time. It's much less patriotic to ignore war crimes, scream "LA LA LA" and pretend like nothing bad's happening. Our politics puts very young men and women into shitty situations that most of us don't have to deal with - of COURSE bad things are going to happen. They are human beings!

The mental picture I have of McCain's character is that he is a reckless, cocky underachiever whose current success comes primarily from his privileged upbringing. I can't see how this is good for our country.
