Connecting Our World Student Diplomat Video Contest

I spent about a month learning about the post-conflict transformation in Rwanda with SIT (Fall 2010 Uganda/Rwanda program). We visited a number of genocide memorials, which left a memory that I will never let go of. We also visited the Women's Association, which is a group of women whose husbands were either killed in the genocide or were perpetrators of the genocide. These women work together, sell products together, live together, and have come to show reconciliation in Rwanda. Our group also visited the Millennium Village Project, were in home stays, and partnered with Rwandan college students to learn from each other.
