  • I am 32, diabetic 22 yrs, and recently diagnosed with chronic renal failure. I am on dialysis, Starting PD soon as well. I am not on the donor list yet, but definitely can't wait to be on one. I am excited to have the surgery done, and can't wait. I just don't want to wait 4 yrs, which seems to be the current wait time.

  • I am 31years old, 20 years of diabetes and in line for a kidney, pancreas transplant. I have been on dialysis for 17mths. Maria I hope you are right as i have been waiting patiently for a call. I can't wait to be feeling normal again. It has been so long that i have forgotten what that feels like.

  • Hello my name is maria and I'm from Portugal I have been diabetic for 25 years or since birth, and day 17 May 2010 I had my second chance I was already one year on dialysis and after kidney transplantation and pancreas was like was born a new person, i finally learned how to be normal, just have to take immunosuppressants for not rejecting the organs and have a life like any normal person. is the best feeling in the world and is worth all the sacrifices and pain of surgery. believe.

  • @Segundavida2000 Im 15, and i HATE being diabetic more than anything else. And was curious. Do you think it was worth it? Whats it like being normal? Please go into detail, thank you

  • I have a kidney pancreas transplant performed 18 months apart. Being used to elevated blood sugars made a normal blood sugar feel like a reaction. After a big meal, I could feel my blood sugar dropping, and my knee jerk reaction was to do something before it got too low. I had to learn to do nothing.
