Juliette Singler's faculty recital performance of a song I wrote for the musical theater work-in-progress, Shadow of a Sixth.
Shadow of a Sixth is a contemporary musical that I am currently writing, based on the relationships of five characters who each believe that change doesnt just happen, but rather that people create change themselves. When a mutual friend of the five suddenly passes away, the characters experience a change that they never would have expected. Through the death of their friend, they begin to grow in relationship with one another, their lives taking sharp turns in ways that they would have never imagined. For You is a duet sung by two characters who fall in love, despite the controversial nature of their relationship. This presents a choice: to start the relationship that they both believe will last forever and upset friends and family alike, or to let the moment pass by, and to lose a chance at true love.
Nice! Gorgeous cello writing, too.

thanks! originally, the song is written for the two singers, piano, 2 violins, viola, cello, and oboe; however for this particular performance I rearranged the orchestral score to just piano and cello! i hope to get the other recorded soon!
