Freedom Train by The G-Men
From the G-Files CD
The fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the repressive Eastern European governments.
On October 2nd 1989, the East German Government was forced to approve trains that took hundreds of East Germans from Warsaw to West Germany via the border town of Hof -- after first travelling through East Germany, so that Honecker could claim they had "returned home" before "expelling" them to West Germany. Their arrival was celebrated in the west and greatly publicised.
This was one of the early signs that cracks were appearing in their control and within weeks the East German government had fallen.
