http://www.daystyledesigns.com/quiltingsetup.htm Learn how Leah sets up her machine for quilting. Yes! You can quilt even king sized quilts on a domestic sewing machine if you have it set up in this way.

  • Why do you mean hide the threads?

  • When you quilt, you will always have 2 loose threads at the beginning and end of your line of stitching.

If you just clip these off, your quilting can become unraveled. If you stitch to secure it with the machine, it can make a nasty mess on the quilt.

Instead, pull up the threads and tie a knot.

Take a cheater needle, thread the loose threads, and run the needle through the middle layer of the quilt, hiding the knot inside the quilt. Now no one will know where you start or stop quilting.

  • Leah, I love your videos and your common sense. No high-tech cabinet or machine here, just basic simple equipment that works. Thanks for helping the rest of us with basic equipment realize we CAN do wonderful quilting with the right setup and machine (and practice of course!).
