  • Great stuff. I cannot get enough of South Shore trains and the Ill Central, the OLD but long gone cars.

  • That is indeed the Prudential building. I remember it being built when I was in second grade. It was a big deal for the city at the time, as few new buildings had been built since WWII.

  • Near the beginning, it shows a steel frame for a building, which I believe was the Prudential Building.

  • Thank you for putting this video on YouTube. It brought back some memories for me. I grew up on the south side of Chicago and rode both the Illinois Central commuter trains and the South Shore trains many times with my parents when I was a boy. Now I live in Arkansas where there are no commuter trains
